Farmers and Markets ...... a community event
The Bangalow farmers market started in July, 2004.
I missed the first Saturday, struggled out in that delicious rain of the second week and in glorious sunshine the next.
What a treat it is to talk to the vendors who grow the food. They are full of information, tips on cooking and some give away favourite recipes. And what a variety of food types. Marvellous! And fresh!
Without fail you bump into someone you know and a natter ensues.
And then there’s that shopping to do in the village proper.
The weekly gathering of residents coming and going to this little enclave tucked away behind the shops has a warm and friendly atmosphere.
To my mind the farmers market provides not only fresh, quality food - it provides a “village” vibe. FB
