Screenworks is calling for entries for the 2010 Life’s A Pitch competition which is now part of a nationwide search to uncover the
best screen projects in the country. The deadline for entries is 2 August. Screenworks has partnered with the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) to include the Northern Rivers in the national competition which culminates in the national winner flying to the Cannes Film Festival.
“Screenworks Life’s a Pitch has a reputation in the film and television industry for uncovering local talent” explained Jill Moonie, Screenworks General Manager. “Being included in a nationwide search makes Screenworks event more competitive but it will put our finalists in front of more market opportunities. Film and television executives look forward to attending Screenworks Life’s A Pitch because of the talent in this region.”
The winner will be flown to Sydney to pitch their project to a panel of industry executives at the SPAA Fringe conference in October. Two finalists from SPAA Fringe will be selected to fly back to Sydney to pitch their projects head-to-head at the SPAA Conference in November. The national winner will fly to the Cannes film festival.
