Congratulations to Anna Free and Nell Hughes (both of Bangalow) on being selected to receive the Sandi Dean Music 
Scholarships for 2010.
This scholarship will enable them to attend the prestigious Sunwater and Stanwell Winter Music School in Rockhampton from 4 July to 10 July 2010. The school is under the direction of Paul Dean who is also artistic director of the Bangalow Music Festival held in August each year.
Anna (pictured) is a year 10 student at Byron Bay High School and specialises in piano and voice. Nell is a year 12 student at Emmanuel Anglican College and her chosen instrument is the violin.
This is a wonderful opportunity for both girls to further their music studies and I am sure they will represent Bangalow with pride.
The scholarships are named in honour of the late Sandi Dean of Bangalow, a much loved community member, a great supporter of the Bangalow Lions Club and a lover of classical music. They are funded jointly by the Bangalow Lions Club and the Bangalow Chamber of Commerce.
