BCCC Pyjama Day
On Thursday 17 June children from the Bangalow Community Children’s Centre braved a chilly morning to wear their PJ’s for a very special cause. Apart from the fun of getting decked out in pyjamas for the day, the aim was to raise money and awareness for the annual St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal and CEO Sleepout.
The Vinnies CEO Sleepout began in 2006 and is held annually to raise much needed funds for Vinnies homeless services across the country. With over 105,000 people sleeping out every night across Australia this is no light matter.
Children’s families were asked to make a gold coin donation and they did – raising almost $200 for the Winter Appeal. Families also donated a large swag of warm winter goods that have been donated to St Vincent de Paul’s for distribution to those who need them.
BCCC would like to thank the Lions Club and Bun Coffee for their invaluable assistance with the PJ Day breakfast. Our egg and bacon rolls were cooked on the BBQ secured via the Volunteers Grant. Viv Fantin
