Travel Photography Comp.
Calling all aspiring shutterbugs. A new travel photography contest is soon to be launched in the Byron Shire. Focusing on ‘People and Places’, the contest will be open to photographers of all ages. You don’t have to be a pro nor do you need to have travelled the world. You just have to have a keen eye and a great travelling spirit. The competition will be part of local travel writer and photographer Kim Wildman’s efforts to raise money for War Child Australia. In May this year, Kim will be travelling to Cambodia to take part in a two-week cycling challenge to help the charity provide education and support to children affected by war. Kim says, “I have a deep respect for the work of War Child
Australia so I have pledged to raise at least $6900 for this event. Through my work as a travel writer and photographer I have witnessed much poverty and hardship in many of the countries I have visited, and this challenge is finally allowing me the opportunity to contribute in a positive way.” Entry dates and prizes will be announced soon. So get snapping!
