Scout Report

In January, 10 Scouts went to the 22nd Australian Jamboree (AJ 2010) in Sydney. We did apage24b.jpg heap of activities: Skills Village – where you got to try out skills of a tradesman; Jamberoo – a water park with great action activities including a car racing track; Adventurous Activities – this included a giant inflatable water slide, an eight-metre high flying fox, and abseiling down an 11-metre wall; Endurance 2010 – a seven-kilometre bush hike with activities every 500 metres (some of which were figuring out codes, water skirmish and more abseiling); Cirque Du Scout – a circus where we were taught to juggle balls and trampolining and acrobalance; Brownsea Island (the name of the island where the very first Scout camp was held) – for pioneering and orienteering; Water Activities base – for canoeing, kayaking, snorkelling, swimming, a water obstacle course and a walk up Georges Head; Adventurous Activities – taking us to ‘Challenge Valley’ where we did BMX riding, mud pit and low ropes course. We all had so much fun at AJ 2010 and I can’t wait to go to AJ 2013 in Queensland.
